Sembradoras De Pasac Group's story
Juana sells colorful traditional clothing, as well as spices. Her husband is a farmer and grows corn and beans. However, his income is not sufficient to cover the household expenses, especially since he earns little from his harvest. Guatemala has experienced a severe drought in the past few years. Juana is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy a large quantity of pumpkin seeds to resell.
There are nine determined ladies in the Trust Bank who participate in educational trainings at their monthly meetings. A facilitator, using games, role playing, pictures and diagrams, shares useful information about family, health, and business, The women are eager to learn and often share with family and friends. Every other month, Juana and her friends have access to health care services, another “plus” service that is part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health care.
Juana and her friends greatly appreciate the generosity and kindness of Kiva investors from all parts of the world who fund their much needed loans. Thank you to each of you!
