A loan helped Purchase coffee beans to sell.

Cristina's story

Cristina is 29 years old and a persistent, sincere young woman. She lives in her own home with her husband and two children, who are her reason for living and the drive that motivates her every day.

For the past two years, Cristina has been selling food and beverages, especially beer and sodas. These products yield the highest returns, especially on the weekends when people from the neighboring towns gather to share in social activities. Cristina enjoys attending to her customers, even though it is difficult at times to collect payment whenever she issues credit, but nonetheless she is happy to be helping with the household expenses. Meanwhile, her husband has been growing coffee for eight years. Their community has been recognized for being one of the best coffee growing areas of the country. The coffee he produces is in great demand for its exquisite taste and aroma.

This is Cristina’s second loan with MFP. She is one of the first people to arrive at the meetings held by the Communal Bank directors because she enjoys sharing with the other members. With her loan of 1000 soles that she requested, Cristina will buy coffee beans from her neighbors so that she can sell them later wholesale to a buyer in the city.
