Jehova Es Mi Protector 4 Group's story

Marilourde is the coordinator of her group Jehova es mi Protector (God is my protector), and her story is representative of her group and of Esperanza's Haitian and Dominican (many of whom recently emigrated to the DR from Haiti) clients generally. Her group is located in the slums surrounding Santiago, a large city known for its tobacco and beef industry, where running water (none of which is potable) and electricity are unreliable. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her long-term partner and their four children. Marilourde is excited to be taking her second loan from Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and grown her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business buying large packages of assorted used clothing that come from places like the Salvation Army in the United States and selling them in her community at a profit. She will use the profits to invest in her family by purchasing school supplies and in her business by saving towards the day when she can have her own shop, and not have to sell her wares in the street. She thanks you all for your support.
