Thy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to build a household latrine and buy related necessities.

Thy's story

Thy,aged 42, is an experienced farmer from a rural village in the Pursat Province of Cambodia. She lives with her husband and her children at their own home. With the help of her husband, Thy is engaged in the cultivation of rice, yams and other seasonal crops. In each harvest season, local traders always come to the village to buy agriculture products from the agriculture village. Agriculture is the sole source of the family's income.

Since she doesn't have a self latrine for use at home, she is unable to help her family members improve their sanitation and personal hygiene. Therefore she has requested a loan of USD 2,000 to buy a household latrine and buy related necessities.

In the future she wants to build a new house and push her children to continue studying at university.

The water loan program offered by HKL with a special interest rate has helped to encourage Thy to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment.
