Jedidah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy quality seeds to help a granny start horticultural farming, meeting the demand for horticulture in her village and using the profits to improve her living standards.

Jedidah's story

Jedidah is a passionate smallholder granny farmer who started farming due to the economic necessities of her life. Her goal to get ahead is admirable because, despite her advanced age and the hindrances she has experienced, she doesn't ease her efforts to achieve her objective.

Jedidah lives in Kerugoya, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands which favor large-scale dairy and horticultural farming.

Jedidah practices mixed farming on her farm. With her profits, she has managed to take care of her family's needs and also give her children a good education. She is seeking a loan of 30,000 KES to buy seeds and start horticultural farming on her farm.

Jedidah wants to reap more profits by taking advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, good soil and a ready market for horticultural products.

Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hardworking grannies like Jedidah make their farming dreams come to reality through training and loan financing.

Please help this granny, who has dreams and goals to achieve. Come on, make a loan and her life will feel worth living. Your loan will help a rural woman granny develop her farming business and secure her family's future.
