Risper's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farming inputs such as fertilizers and hybrid seeds to boost the quality of her produce, earn more profits, and elevate her living standard.

Risper's story

Empowering and investing in women, especially in rural areas, can be the best way to increase productivity and significantly reduce hunger in Kenya. Risper (a mother of six children who was born in 1986) is happy to share her profile with Kiva lenders for the first time in this platform. She lives with her family in Kenyenya and depends primarily on agriculture for survival. Her work is to raise dairy animals and grow different crop varieties.

Agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic and requires high-quality seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Risper is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seeds to enable her to grow more vegetables, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Kenyenya is very challenging. But Risper feels relieved knowing that institutions such as Kiva are helping enterprising women like her. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions. Her biggest dreams are to become independent and support her family by herself, secure her children’s future, and buy a home.
