Tolkun's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase her volume of milk sales to a local plant.

Tolkun's story

The 51-year-old Tolkun is a widow with two children. She has a secondary education and has been raising livestock and growing crops since 2012. This is her family's main source of income. Thanks to Tolkun's hard work and her brother's help with the farm, it presently consists of seven cows, 110 sheep, six horses, and a 0.3-hectare plot of land on which she grows potatoes. She has a contract to deliver organic milk to a local plant, where it is processed into dairy products. This permits Tolkun to invest continuously in her agricultural business.

After learning that she could obtain a loan from Bai Tushum Bank using the contract for future deliveries as collateral under a Value-Added Chain arrangement, Tolkun has applied for a loan of 150,000 som (KGS) to buy dairy cows, her goal being to increase her milk sales. The plant's payments for the milk will be deposited directly into Tolkun's bank account, and the loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income generated by the loan will help Tolkun to develop her business going forward and provide her children with a quality education.
