Lupeolo's story

Lupeolo is 35 years old. She is a mother to seven children and a wife to a farmer. They live at their own home, in the island of Ha'apai. Lupeolo runs a business of weaving, where she weaves taovala, fihu and mats both from white and brown pandanus. She use to weave together with a group of women but now she weaves on her own at home. She is paying two women, part-time, to help her with her weaving.

Lupeolo has done weaving for more than ten years now. She has witnessed the benefits her family receive from running her business well and committing to it. Not only that weaving brings money to her family, but it has become a part of her life, for her mother taught her to weave and now she is doing the same with her children.

Lupeolo sell her products inTonga and she also sends it to relatives overseas. She is one of our trusted client, who runs her business well and be honest with her business. She is planning on using her loan money to buy pandanus and to pay more women to help her with her weaving.
