Dúo El Pinal Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy supplies to make tamales.

Dúo El Pinal Group's story

María is still the leader of this duo, as she has spent many years making and selling tamales, paches [a traditional dish made with potatoes or rice], tones [tortillas made from corn with refried beans] and snacks. María is very grateful for the support that she received through her previous loan. She invested it in her business, and every week she could see her profits and use them to help her family. During those months, she was able to fix a large part of the roof of her house. The roof deteriorates over time, which affects her home during the wet season.

With the help of a neighbour, María manages to prepare a hundred tamales and paches each week. They are later sold to her neighbours and family, who she attends to with a great deal of warmth.

This time, she would like to buy wood, corn, tomatoes, maxan leaves [used for wrapping tamales], and beans. With these, she will have everything she needs, and will be able to make the most of her time at the business.
