A loan helped To purchase wholesale sunflower seeds from 60 female farmers, allowing them to stockpile and extend production, utilizing their new machines at capacity of pressing 8 tons/day.
John Julius is the founder of Temnar Company, a factory focused on sunflower oil processing at Masasi town in Mtwara region, in operation since 2013. The Temnar company factory processes sunflower, sesame and groundnuts products located in Masasi and they sell oil in wholesale and retail products to Mtwara Lindi and Dar es salaam. They buy raw material (sunflower seeds, sesame) from a group of 60 women out-growers and then process it and sell the oil, sometimes they buy oil from the people who press in the factory pack it and sell it as Temnar oil. This loan will allow them to buy raw materials from their out-growers as well purchase new machinery to increase their processing capacity.
