Thank you for the impact you’ve made this year! Together we’ve funded more than 170,000 loans and raised more than $120 million for financially excluded people around the world. It costs us more than $3 to facilitate each $25 loan, and we rely on optional donations from individuals like you to cover our costs.

Fe En Dios Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy fabric, paint, cones of thread and needles.

Fe En Dios Group's story

Brenda is a 37-year-old single mother of two children (2, 20) who lives with her father. Her oldest son studies business administration. Brenda graduated from high school with degrees in science and art. She works in an office in her town, where she has been learning about the technique of relief painting. Brenda also works hard at her textile businesses, sewing tablecloths and pillow cases, and painting blouses. She is requesting a Kiva loan to buy a variety of fabric, paint, cones of thread and needles.

Brenda and eight other ladies who live in the department/state of Suchitepequez are members of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank, Fe en Dios. They sell traditional snack type foods like tamales and chuchitos on the street or outside schools in the town where they live. They also sell chicken meat, blouses and undergarments. The women learn a great deal in their monthly educational training, part of the Microcredit Plus program of loans, education and health care services. At their monthly meetings after making loan payments, the ladies participate in educational training designed to enhance their knowledge about four relevant areas: business management, health, family matters and women’s issues. Every other month, they have access to basic health care services. The educational training and health care services are just two of the extras in the Microcredit Plus program.

These women are most grateful to Kiva Lenders for your kindness and your generosity!
