Jigiya Group's story

Bakary is representing the group named Jigiya. A Malian livestock farmer who is 48 and illiterate, he is the married father of ten children, aged 1 to 10, of whom two are attending school. His wife is a homemaker.

Bakary turns to KIVA through RMCR because of his meager capital. He buys and sells at nearby markets. His earnings help him to cover certain family expenses: schooling for the children, food, medical care, and clothing. He has a good reputation in the village and does a good job as a livestock farmer. His wish is to obtain a bigger loan in order to grow his business and to become more renowned among the farmers in his village.
