Teresa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as hybrid seeds and certified fertilizer, to improve her farming so that she can use the increased profits to secure her family's future.

Teresa's story

The planting season is fast approaching!

Teresa, who was born 35 years ago and is the mother of four, is a hardworking farmer from a remote village in the Nyahururu area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her family a good start.

Teresa has a farm where she grows crops and raises livestock. The Nyahururu area is a favorable one for farming, so she is seeking a 150,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo, to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer and seed. These will enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Nyahururu, is very challenging. Teresa feels relieved to know that there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself.
