Burulbu's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase her volume of milk sales to a dairy plant.

Burulbu's story

The 31-year-old Burulbu is married, with five children. She has a secondary education. She has been raising livestock and growing crops since 2008, and this is her family's main source of income. Thanks to Burulbu's hard work and her husband's help with the farm, it presently consists of 17 cows and a horse, as well as a 0.7-hectare plot of land on which she grows maize. Burulbu has a contract to deliver organic milk to a local plant, where is it processed into dairy products. This permits her to invest continuously in her agricultural business.

After learning that she could obtain a loan from Bai Tushum Bank using the contract for future deliveries as collateral under a Value-Added Chain arrangement, Burulbu has applied for a loan of 150,000 som (KGS), with which she will buy dairy cows. Her goal is to increase her milk sales. The plant's payments for the milk will be deposited directly into Burulbu's bank account, and the loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income generated by the loan will help her develop her farm going forward and improve her family's living conditions.
