Melelupe's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business and also cotton and fabric for her sewing pillow case business.

Melelupe's story

Melelupe is a 51 year old mother of five grown ups, wife of a carpenter and a grand mother to one grand child. They live at their own home, with their remaining unmarried children.

Her business includes weaving, and sewing pillow cases. Her youngest daughter helps her out with her weaving, as well as her pillow case business. They conduct the weaving almost every day, and for the pillow cases, they can conduct it during the night, or in just a day.

Together, they weave taovala, mats and fihu. Shown in her photo, is a finished pillow case, where she does a decoration on it.

Melelupe makes good money from this business. She exports her weaving products overseas for marketing, while her daughter post her pillow case business on the Internet, for more followers.

She is hoping to use her loan money, to buy pandanus as well as cotton and fabric for her business. Her vision for the future, is to expand their house, and renovate their restroom.
