Ana Mariela's story

Ana Mariela is 53 years old and a small-time enterpreneur who lives in Bayunca municipality. She is separated and has one son, who is nine years old.

She makes a living selling fish, such as bream, sea bass, snappers, horse mackerel and bocachico. Her business idea came to her around five years ago. She saw a need to earn an income to help support her family as her ex-partner did not help with her son’s expenses.

Very early in the morning, Ana moves out to the market square in Cartagena city in order to buy the products she later sells to customers, who include neighbours, acquaintances, and passers-by.

Ana is applying for her first Kiva loan through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use it to buy an industrial cooker, and bream, sea bass, snappers, horse mackerel and bocachico fish to meet a customer order. Please support her.
