A loan helped to purchase string, sticks, plants, compost and farm supplies.

Martha Cecilia's story

Martha is a humble woman with a good heart. She wants to get ahead alongside her family. Martha is the mother of three young children.

Martha and her partner work as day laborers. They leave early in the morning each day to work the land. That gives them an income that covers some of their expenditures. But still, they need money. That is why Martha started her own blackberry crop, which she is able to do because of the experience she acquired from her work. This has allowed them to subsist, without luxuries; but they are able to put bread on the table for their children each day.

Martha is requesting some assistance to purchase string, sticks, plants, compost and farming supplies so she can take good care of her crop. She hopes her production increases so she can generate a larger income for her household. After a time, her blackberry bushes will be able to supply three baskets worth, which will be sold at the current market price.
