A loan helped to buy more fish for her fish market.

Cristo La Esperanza Grupo: 4 Group's story

Maria is a mother and a hard worker in her own fish market. She works hard for her son and wants him to be able to receive a good education. She lives with her family in a batey [a rural community of sugar cane workers] in the Dominican Republic. A batey is a type of farm where very resilient poverty exists.

With her fish market, Maria sustains her community with foods of good quality and good prices. Business is high is the season of the sugar harvest, but when the sugar harvest ends, Maria has problems with her sales. Very soon, at the end of the harvest, Maria is going to need help to buy more fish to sell. With more fish, she will be able to have more sales and earn more income.

Her income helps her son and his education. In addition, if she has a sufficient amount, the income can help Maria obtain her own house for her family.

There are many opportunities for Maria if she has success with her fish market. With your help, with a loan, Maria will be very successful.
