A loan helped to buy clothing and shoes.

Juan's story

Juan is 26 years of age, single, a merchant, known affectionately as “El Chele” [the pale one]. He has worked for three years selling clothing and shoes. He worked eight hours per day in other businesses where, with the salary he earned, he was able to save and buy a motorcycle. He decided to resign and start his own business selling clothing and shoes as a street vendor in the communities of the city, using his motorcycle to get around. Now he has his business established in a shop that he has rented for one year. To strengthen his business, he sold the motorcycle. During the coffee harvest season, he works together with a nephew, to whom he entrusts items from his business; he pays [the nephew] for his day of work and a commission for sales, which generates more income.

He requests a loan from FUNDENUSE to increase the inventory of his business and to diversify the items he has for sale. His future plans include making his business grow; improving his sales and profits, to be able to buy a vehicle to buy and transport more merchandise; and owning a large store.
