Janeth's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy cereals grains (corn and beans) to resell so this mother can improve her income and be better able to support her family during this season.

Janeth's story

Janeth, a 43-year-old mom of seven, is a smallholder farmer who lives in Siongiroi, in the Great Rift Valley region of Kenya. She is a mother who is full of dreams and great aspirations. Janeth is married to a fellow farmer who helps her in her farming business. They practice mixed farming. Her husband is charged with the responsibility of cultivating and looking after their herd of cattle while she sells their produce at the local market.

Her primary source of income has been milk and crops. Although she has been making profits from farming, she has identified a market for selling cereals in her local market. The only big challenge she faces is the lack of funds to purchase stock.

She is requesting a loan to buy cereals. She intends to buy different varieties of cereals (that is, maize and beans) to sell in the local market. The market for the cereal grains is never a problem because the demand is always high, and she plans to take advantage of that.

Janeth’s life will take another turn, and she will be able to secure the future of her family.
