Mary's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy empty drums, rolls of netting and wheelbarrows for her cocoa-drying business.

Mary's story

Mary is a 61 year-old woman who is married with six children. They live in a community outside Honiara, the capital of Solomon Island.

She runs a small business where she dries wet cocoa beans that she can sell to cocoa exporters in town to earn a living. She has been in this business for ten years.

Mary has requested a loan to pay for empty drums, rolls of netting and wheelbarrows to make a new cocoa-roasting shack for her business.

She joined SPBD in 2019 to gain access to financial services and this is her first loan.

Mary plans to use her profits to meet her family's weekly expenses.
