Las Rosas De Chimaltenango Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to invest in the purchase of a glass showcase, as well as ingredients to continue preparing her recipes.

Las Rosas De Chimaltenango Group's story

As soon as the sun begins to shine in the department of Chimaltenango, as in other places in Guatemala, it is common to observe food sales in the corners, where the client can find anything from a sweet bread to a breakfast. Thus the days of these past four years have begun for Aura who is 44. She is a member of the Community Bank of Friendship Bridge "Las Rosas de Chimaltenango."

Aura is a single woman, who received formal education for nine years. She rises very early to install her sales outside her house. She needs to increase the ingredients in her cellar and have showcases to display her product. Aura is requesting a second Kiva loan to invest in the purchase of a glass showcase, as well as ingredients to continue preparing her recipes.

Seven very active women form “Las Rosas de Chimaltenango” Community Bank. They want to obtain this new Kiva loan to invest in businesses such as: food sales, tortilla stores, baby clothes sales, and small glass shops. These women aim to expand into new markets. By having higher earnings, they know they can save for the full education of their children.

It is very difficult for women like Aura to access a loan. With the financing of a Kiva loan, women will have the opportunity to invest in their businesses and benefit from the “Plus” services of Puente de Amistad (training and health). Thank you Kiva lenders for your interest in the lives of women who visualize bright futures.
