Marta's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy staple goods to stock her grocery store, such as milk, sacks of rice, beans, corn, vegetables, meat, and other things.

Marta's story

Marta is 31 years old. She is in a common law marriage and has two children. She lives with her family in the town of Gracias, Lempira.

For four years Marta has had a business selling food in the area where she lives. She makes roast beef, fried plantains with ground beef, tacos, pupusas [thick, corn tortillas stuffed with savory fillings], and other foods. In addition, Marta has a grocery store where she sells staple goods to neighbors in her community.

Marta is seeking a loan from ODEF in the amount of 7,000 lempiras to buy staple goods to stock her grocery store, such as milk, sacks of rice, beans, corn, vegetables, meat, and other things. This will ensure that she has sufficient products in her store to provide good service to her customers. Marta's goal is to strengthen her grocery store business, and, in time, to move her food business to her own locale.
