Although Maricela has a higher education, it has been difficult to find a job. For this reason four years ago, she decided to open her own chicken raising and selling business. Maricela has the desire to vary the business. For this reason she requests the first Kiva loan to buy chickens and pigs.

Maricela is a member of the Community Bank of Puente de Amistad “Sector Pasac”, in the Department (state) of Sololá. The women in his group are Maya K’iche ’and sell traditional costumes, raise animals (chickens, pigs), attend convenience stores, and sell vegetables.
