Eunice's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve her farm's output and help her, as a mom who is the voice of hope for her children, support her family.

Eunice's story

Meet Eunice, a 33-year-old mom of seven children and a loving mother who was brought up in one of the poorest homes in her village in Kitale, Kenya. She uses a smile as her way of forgetting the hurdles she has gone through in the past. Kitale is a region endowed with seasonal streams and green vegetation. Eunice had sustained contact with her parents, which allowed her to learn farming skills from them. These skills shaped and equipped her to be the very knowledgeable farmer that she is today. On her farm, she grows crops and keeps dairy cows. She also sells milk and maize, and when she is not farming, Eunice works on her side business.

Eunice requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo after realizing that they are in partnership with Kiva and are willing to help her realize her dreams. She will use this loan to purchase farming inputs such as high-nutrient fertilizers and certified seeds, which will improve her farm's yield and earn more profits from sales to support her family. For a woman like Eunice, accessing funds in Kenya, especially around Kitale area where she lives, is very challenging. Eunice feels relieved knowing there are institutions that help enterprising women like herself.
