Consolata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers which will help a mother who is a high-flier improve her farm.

Consolata's story

Consolata (a mother of four children) is very hardworking and a high-flier. She hails from a remote village in the Nkubu area of Kenya. This area has tough living conditions, and to survive you must have tough skin. Consolata has defied all odds and has chosen to work hard so that she can meet the requirements of her loving family. She is the only breadwinner.

Consolata practices farming and dairy animal farming. Consolata works on her farm, growing different crops and rearing dairy cows. She has not been using farming inputs like nutrient-rich fertilizers and seeds. Through farming and work ethics, she has made tremendous progress in her family.

Access to modern-quality farming inputs is the pillar of the agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Farmers can attest that, since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured in the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, there has been a significant improvement in input availability than before.

Consolata has requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo via Kiva lenders in order to purchase farming inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to boost the quality of her produce, increase her profits, and elevate her standard of living. The loan you give Consolata will have a lasting impact in her heart, and she will forever be indebted to the lenders.
