Jack's story

I have worked in the agricultural business sector all my life and have degrees in Agricultural Business and in Business. Early on, I worked in a feed lot that was steeped in unhealthy conditions. Animals were constantly sick and dying as were people in the surrounding area. It was the days of Kesterson. After that experience I would not eat meat for ten years, until I began to realize the connection between our food and our health. From then on, it was all about raising animals humanely, sequestering carbon and promoting grass-fed clean products all the way. Land management became increasingly important to promoting /enhancing the water cycle, covering and building the soil. I also have a degree in landscape architecture. I managed a grass-fed beef operation and farm that was BD Certified ( Biodynamic) for 20 years before taking on this Island of Molokai slaughterhouse project. We have been here 10 years now.
