Hue's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped double the impact from 854 people to 2000 people by the end of 2020 and beyond for Kids K-12 to access to computer technology.

Hue's story

I did not have access to a computer after learning to program in middle school. That changed my path to electronics in high school, and after graduation I majored in engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. However, after a summer internship I realized that a career in engineering wasn’t my calling, and I decided to get a job in the computer field. While working for a healthcare company I discovered that old but perfectly usable computers were being sent to a recycler instead of being reused. This revelation was the impetus for me to start my nonprofit RRRcomputer.org where I encouraged corporations and individuals to donate their unwanted laptops so I could refurbish them to give to kids and their schools in low income, disadvantaged communities. The participating kids and after-school programs will receive laptop computers. I want those kids who receive the computers to be able to choose whatever major they would like besides in improving their grades through computer access.
