Christy's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped increase reach for more clients, boost marketing, put a deposit on a retreat center, and get more technology for online course creation.

Christy's story

I grew up in Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming until 2009. Since then, I have been on the move. I lived in Denver for one year working as an intern. Having graduated in the recession, it was difficult to get a job. This brought me to seek options in entrepreneurship while also pursuing several part- and full-time jobs to support myself. In 2010-2011, I experienced a series of car accidents that left me curious to learn how the body heals. Eventually, I moved to Fort Collins and lived there for two years, running a nanny business, taking courses in sign language and healing arts (Reiki and Reflexology). Next, I went to St. Louis where I attended graduate school at Washington University. I got a degree in Deaf Education and also completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. After three years in St. Louis, I moved to Maui to start teaching. Here on Maui, life is a different pace and the views are endlessly sweet. It's slowed me to finally realize my abilities as an entrepreneur. For a decade I have been teasing myself out of running a business for fear of failure. In the past 6 months, while working full-time and attending school full-time, I brought in a revenue of $6500. This makes me wonder what I can do if I am able to fully focus on my business without working other jobs. So here I go in full business mode. My entrepreneurial spirit is soaring with ideas and possibilities for the future. Teaching, writing, healing, and traveling are a big part of my life and will be integrated into my business as I grow. I plan to offer retreats, travel to conferences, continue to expand the online courses, and write more.
