Innocent's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to provide clean drinking water access and employment in Eastern Uganda.

Innocent's story

Innocent was born in the Western District of Buwejju in Uganda. He is a family man with three daughters and one wife.

He has spent the biggest part of his work life in Eastern Uganda working with National medical stores and later on, Star Pharmaceuticals as a sales manager. His work schedule dictates that he spends a lot of time with the local communities in Tororo and other Eastern Uganda districts. It is through such encounters that he also found out the need for safe drinking water in the communities he serves.

In Jibu, he believes he has found a solution to this problem. This loan will fund all the necessary costs to get Innocent's franchise up and running, including storefront build-out, staff training, support overhead and sourcing including shipping and installation of his Jibu water filtration unit.

Jibu is a social enterpriser pioneering a powerful new model that capitalizes and equips entrepreneurs in emerging market communities to own businesses that ensure access to basic human necessities, with water as an anchor product. Jibu has scaled a network of locally owned, financially independent and self-sustaining franchises that provide safe drinking water to their communities while offering life-changing training and employment. The company’s vision is to train, finance, and grow a network of co-invested business owners like Innocent, who will revolutionize the way critical resources are leveraged to develop essential infrastructure in emerging markets.
