Dorothy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more fish to meet her customers’ demands.

Dorothy's story

Dorothy is a 36-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and her four children in the Isoka District of Zambia. Dorothy sells dry fish. She is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying more fish to meet her customers’ demands. She plans to use the profit she earns to pay school fees for her children and to support her family.

Dorothy will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her own business.
