Mwiche's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more food to sell.

Mwiche's story

Mwiche is a 33-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and five children in the Isoka district of Zambia. She sells food, such as beans and rice.

She previously received a Kiva loan, which she used to expand her business, and she paid the loan back in full. She used the profit she earned to support her family's basic needs.

Mwiche is now requesting a second loan in order to buy more food to sell. She plans to use the profit she earns to continue to expand her business.

Mwiche will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide. She will be facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
