but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase groceries.

Nery Margoth's story

Montecristi stands out for its crafts made from toquilla straw, wicker, piquigua fiber, and wood. Fine hats made from toquilla straw (known world-wide as "Panama hats") are known both within and outside of the country.

Nery is 51 years old, single, does not have children, and lives in her mother's house. Nery has a small grocery store where she sells a great variety of staple consumer products such as rice, sugar, detergents, cleaning products, soft drinks, water, etc. When she is not there, her mother and a nephew (who she raised) tend the customers.

Nery works as a domestic assistant in Manta for a family from Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day. With this salary, she helps her mother, who needs care and medicine.

With this new loan, she will purchase groceries to continue stocking the store. Her dream is that her mother is very healthy and that her business continues growing.
