Bocha Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 energy system in order to access solar power for lighting, charging, and cooking in a way that is safer, cleaner, and saves money.

Bocha Group's story

Karabo is a 32-year-old woman who lives with 8 other family members, including one child, in a multi-bedroom house without access to electricity. She relies on her small business and struggles with insufficient income and buying multiple fuels. She spends most of her energy budget on wood, gas and paraffin, which cost up to LSL 721 per month. She also spends as much as 3 hours per day gathering fuel and meeting other energy needs like phone-charging.

Karabo and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices at any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass- and solar-powered. The region this borrower lives in is very beautiful and she is glad that she will be able to contribute to reducing local air pollution.
