Linet's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers in order to improve the quality of farm products and increase a member's income.

Linet's story

Taking a glimpse at Linet (a 34-year-old mom of 4 school-going children), one would only see her successes but not the self-sacrifice and the ups and downs she has had to pass through. She is a smallholder farmer full of dreams and aspirations in her life.

She resides in a remote village in the lush hills of Nyamira area of Kenya. Thanks to her effort and dedication, she always has good milk and crop production. She works tirelessly every day of the week on her farm. This kind mother keeps dairy animals and grows a variety of crops and vegetables. These are her main sources of income.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of the agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers. Since Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in the availability of inputs.

Linet has decided to apply for a loan that she will use to buy farming inputs (certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers) that she intends to use on her farm.

This loan will surely change her life, as she will be able to produce more, and hence shift her income level.

Transformation in her life will be marked by your good will.
