Joyce's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs to improve productivity for this single mom borrower with good credit standing, leading to increased profits to support her children until they finish school.

Joyce's story

Joyce (41 years old) is a single mother of four children and an ever-smiling woman who feels happy to be part of Kiva. Joyce is a mixed farmer with many years of experience. She loves and takes great care of her family. She was born into a family where farming skills were passed on from one generation to another. She did not have any other way of earning an income, so she chose to venture into farming. Through continuous involvement in crop and animal farming, Joyce is able to provide a meal for her family three times a day.

Due to various farm practices, such as monocropping and continuous cropping, her farm soil has lost its fertility. She also suffers losses brought about by various pests and diseases.

Joyce is requesting this loan so that she can buy fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides to use on her farm. She believes that these inputs will help her improve her farm yield and therefore increase her income. She is confident that she will be able to repay her loan and expand her farm. This loan will surely empower this hardworking woman.
