A loan helped to buy a blender, a food processor, vegetables, and spices.
Mujeres Cumplidas Group's story
She has a business making/selling delicious regional snack foods like “tamales”, “tostadas,” and a corn drink called “atole”. The business is growing, and Clemencia needs to buy ingredients for her recipes. She is requesting her 1st Kiva loan to buy a blender, a food processor, vegetables, and spices.
Clemencia calls the monthly meetings of her Trust Bank to order. The ladies make loan payments and then everyone participates in educational trainings designed by a facilitator, who uses pictures, diagrams, role playing and games to share information drawn from four areas: business, health, family, women. Clemencia shares that the topic of budgeting has helped her become a more effective and successful entrepreneur. Otten the ladies share what they learn with family and friends. Every other month, the women have access to health care services. Friendship Bridge calls the combination of loans, education and health care “Microcredit Plus”.
It would be impossible for these women to secure a loan in a bank. Kiva investors, partnering with Friendship Bridge, are a huge help to these women. Thank you!
