La Paix Virunga Group's story

Aldegonde is a client with the micro-finance institution Hekima and the president of the banque villageois called "La Paix Vurunga." Married and 47 years old, she is the mother of seven children, who are all in school. Her husband works as a driver.

Aldegonde sells food products, a business she started 13 years ago with funds she borrowed from Hekima. With this new loan, she is going to buy vegetables, cassava, and bananas in bulk to strengthen her commerce. Challenges to her business lie in bad state of deserted agricultural roads and instability in the exchange rate.

Aldegonde wishes to educate her children and build a permanent house. Finally, she thanks Hekima and their partners for their support of entrepreneurs who lack access to banking services.
