Mario's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business.

Mario's story

Mario is 19 years old. She is married to a farmer, and they have two kids who are still under age. They live in their own home, at the Western area of Tongatapu.

Her business is weaving, and she does it on her own at home. She weaves only taovala but in different types with different decorations. The price for each taovala depends on the size and decoration demand by the customers.

She earns good money from her weaving, and her husband used to grow her own pandanus plantation. However, when Tropical Cyclone Gita hits Tonga last year, it destroys all her pandanus plantation, causing a lot of loss for her business.

At the moment, her husband already replant her pandanus plantation, but it will need time before it is harvest. That is why she is applying for a loan to buy pandanus for her business.

Her vision for the future is to make more money by weaving more than just taovala products.
