Buena Vista Activas Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to restock the shelves of her convenience store.

Buena Vista Activas Group's story

Small convenience stores are found on many street corners in towns all over Guatemala. Olga, a 33 year old married mother of 3 children (6-10), has one of them. She is the Secretary of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Buena Vista Activas” in the department/state of Chimaltenango.

Olga understands the tremendous value of education and works hard at her store so that her children can attend school. She rents a building close to her home for her store and is requesting her 1st Kiva loan to restock her shelves and buy basic necessities.

Because she came from a family with scant resources, Olga was only able to go to school for 6 years. Along with the members of her trust bank, she participates in monthly educational trainings that cover an aspect of 4 topics: health, business, family and women.

She shares, “I put into practice what I learn in meetings, especially about investing and savings.” Subjects like nutrition, health, hygiene and self esteem are especially important. These trainings, along with basic health care services and the loans, are what Friendship Bridge calls “Microcredit Plus”.

Olga and her friends in the group appreciate the generosity of Kiva investors from all parts of the world who learn about them and fund their much needed loans. Thank you to each of you for your generosity and your kindness!
