A loan helped to purchase farming inputs, such as fertilizer and hybrid seeds, to help a mother boost the quality of her crop produce, earn more profits, and elevate her life.

Teresa's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Meet Teresa: an inspiring mother of seven children and a mixed farmer from Kenyenya; a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands, which favor large-scale grain farming, as well as dairy and crop farming.

In her home village, it is a common belief that being born into a wealthy home and/or being more educated are the only guaranteed ways of becoming successful.

Teresa started farming a few years ago with the aim of providing for her family's basic needs. She has done tremendous work in the agribusiness field with her great passion and enthusiasm.

Although she makes a profit from farming, Teresa is not comfortable. She has always wanted to increase her income by buying quality inputs to plant, so that she can sell more crops after harvesting.

This is why she is seeking this loan to purchase farming inputs, such as fertilizer and hybrid seeds, to boost the quality of her crop produce, earn more profits, and elevate her living standards.

Teresa feels relieved because Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with the wonderful Kiva lenders to help hard-working and honest female farmers, like herself, turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing.

Teresa believes that this loan will be of help and that she will be able to satisfy the demand for crops.

Kindly lend to her and keep her smiling.
