Melaia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to renovate their house, plough their plantation and also pay for more workers.

Melaia's story

Melaia is 33 years old. She is a single mother of one, and she lives together with her parents and brothers.

Her business includes a plantation and also tapa making. Her father and brothers go to the plantation and do the planting, while she does the marketing of the crops. In their plantation, they grow diverse types of crops.

As for her tapa making business, she joined a group of women, and they only conduct the tapa making once in a week. When her tapas are finished, she ships them overseas for marketing. She also posts them on the internet for more customers.

Melaia makes good earning from both her businesses. There is no need for her to buy any more mulberry because they grow it in their plantation.

Her vision for the future is for her child to have a better future and earn a good living.
