Mujeres De Santa Cruz Buj Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy ingredients for her drink/ice cream business and to open a new poultry business.

Mujeres De Santa Cruz Buj Group's story

The President of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Mujeres de Santa Cruz Buj” is 22-year-old Jennifer who has a popular business selling flavorful homemade drinks and ice creams in the department/state of Suchitepequez. She is a married mother of three children who range in age from 3-6 and has 6 years of formal education.

The business is growing and she needs to buy ingredients for her recipes. Jennifer is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy beans, rice and sugar. She also plans to use part of her loan to open a new business raising poultry.

Jennifer is an empowered woman who calls the monthly meetings of her Trust Bank to order. After making loan payments, the eight ladies participate in educational trainings, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of Friendship Bridge and essential to their success. The topics for the trainings are relevant to their lives. They gain effective business practices (investing, planning, budgeting), learn to care for their families (nutrition, hygiene, health) and empower themselves (self esteem, women's rights/roles/bodies). Jennifer shares that the topic about savings has helped her business become successful.

Thank you to each Kiva investor who is learning about Jennifer and her friends and funding their much appreciated loans!
