Amélia's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy grains and veggies from small farmers in her community to sell to the market in order to increase the income and well-being to her family.

Amélia's story

Amélia is a 52-years-old Mozambican woman. She is married and she lives with her husband and their four children in Sussundenga.

Amélia is a brave and very hardworking woman. She is a well-known producer in Sussundenga. She buys and sells crops to get an income for her family but she also helps others to get a job or food.

Thanks to her first Kiva loan Amélia was able to buy a small truck that helps her to distribute the crops to sell in the market. Unfortunately, the cyclone IDAI has devastated all her fields, so Amélia lost every crop that she counted to sell.

Starting from zero again, she is now producing grains and veggies to sell in the market. Since people in Sussundenga are rebuilding their lives after the cyclone the demand tends to increase and Amélia needs more crops to supply to her fixed clients.

This is why she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy grains and veggies from small farmers in her community and sell to the market in order to increase the income and well-being to her family.
