Angela Cristina's story

Montecristi is distinguished by its handicrafts, made of straw, wicker, "piquigua" [a local plant fiber], and wood; and fine straw hats, known in the country and elsewhere as "Panama hats".

Angela is 43 years old, married, and has four children, ages 23, 19, 18, and 10 years old. They attend university, high school, and primary school. Her husband is a brick manufacturer. They live in their own house.

Angela and her husband have a brick factory. Their children help with the work when they have time. They also prepare fish "ceviche" on Saturdays and Sundays. They put a table and chairs outside their house to serve customers.

With this new loan, she will buy a computer so that her children can study with better and timely information, to get better grades in their courses. Her dream is that her children will become professionals.
