Aj Qmalbe Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy more poultry, pigs, seasonal fruits and thread for her 3 businesses.

Aj Qmalbe Group's story

Raising four children (5-9), managing three businesses and spending quality time with her husband keep 26-year-old Victoria extremely busy. She is an example of a very organized woman who is determined to persevere and succeed.

She sells fruit, raises animals (hens, turkeys and pigs) and makes colorful traditional textiles. She sets an excellent example for her children. After planning carefully, Victoria is requesting for her 2nd Kiva loan to buy more hens, turkeys, pigs, seasonal fruits like apricots and apples, as well as thread.

Victoria and 6 other Maya K'iche ladies are members of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Aj Qmalbe”, located in a rural area in the department/state of Quiche. They feel fortunate to participate in the “Microcredit Plus” program of Friendship Bridge that includes loans, monthly educational training and access to basic health care services. They invest their loans into their farms (apples, peaches, plums), animal husbandry, and textile businesses.

Learning about budgeting, planning and investing as part of their monthly training helps them a great deal. They also learn how to avoid over-indebtedness and prioritizing expenses.

Victoria and other members of the Friendship Bridge send their gratitude to Kiva lenders from all parts of the world for funding their much appreciated loans! They are opening doors to a brighter future benefiting themselves, their families and their community in Quiche! Thank you!
