Annah's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as certified and nutrient-rich fertilizers to boost her yields and generate profits to sustain her family.

Annah's story

Beautiful and elegant, Annah is pictured on her farm. Annah is a 41-year-old mother who lives in Bungoma. For the past few years, this enterprising woman has been actively involved in mixed farming. She loves farming for it is her only way of securing a living for her lovely family.

Annah dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies. She is visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps on progressing. She is a crop and dairy farmer. These enterprises have also helped her take care of her aging parents.

Unlike most micro-finance organizations in Kenya that have imposed very complicated procedures in funds acquisition and thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for a smallholder farmer easy and convenient. Through this intervention, movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty.

Annah is humbly seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as certified and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market, and in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family. Through profits she will assure her infant child of a secure future.
