Ruth's story

Ruth is a 43 year-old woman who is married with five children. They live in a community in Honiara, capital of Solomon Island.

She runs small business making and selling buns, donuts and sweet cakes that she can sell in her community and at the market to earn a living. She has been doing this for four years.

Ruth has requested a loan to pay for additional bags of flour, cooking oil, yeast and coconuts to increase her productions and assist her in running her business.

She plans to use her profits to meet her family's expenses and help pay for her children's school fees.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
