Teodosio Sabel's story

Teodosio Sabel is 52 years old. He lives with his wife and two children in the municipality of Soledad. This entrepreneur started his business of selling hot beverages, such as peto and banana mazamorra [traditional Colombian beverages], and rice pudding out of the need to earn income to cover his household expenses. His wife is his greatest support. She makes the hot beverages, which are traditional and very typical in Caribbean region. Teodosio distributes them on his tricycle, which is adapted to transport and sell his products.

This business has generated very good profits for him and has contributed to improving his quality of life. This entrepreneur has a loyal clientele in the surrounding neighborhoods, health centers, and chain stores.

He is currently applying for a Kiva loan, his first loan that he is doing through Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo. He will invest the resources in the purchase of supplies for making the hot beverages; among them are rice, milk, sugar, corn, disposables, and kitchen utensils.
