Mamie's story

Meet 42-year-old Mamie. She lives with her husband along with three children, ranging in age 8 through 25 years. All of her children are schooling and live at home. Mamie went to school until 9th grade.

She earns her living by selling rice, eggs, pepper, salt, Vita, oil, etc. She acquired selling skills from her mother and started to sell with some earnings from her uncle. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She sells Monday through Saturday. She faces no problems with her business. She has been operating her sales for eight years now.

She requires a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner. The loan will be used to buy more rice, eggs, pepper, salt, Vita and oil to sell, in order to further build her business.

She likes her business because it gives her profits and she is proud of her business because it helps to support her family.

In the future, Mamie wants to increase her business and continue her children's education.

She says thanks to all lenders around the world.
